Accessing Photographs
Alberta Tourism, Parks & Recreation [TPR] loans photographs to public and private sector clients on behalf of Travel Alberta for the development of advertising and marketing materials that:
- Promote Alberta as a world-class vacation destination
Accessing Photos:
All photos can be viewed by any visitor to the website.
You must register and meet our client criteria to be granted access to high-resolution photos:
- Client Criteria
- Steps to begin accessing photos from the Travel Alberta Photo Library
- Registration Form
Each request is assessed individually, based on the proposed use.
Upon approval, you will be issued a username and password via email. (Our system generates your username and password combination - you cannot make up your own username and password).
Registrations and photo requests are monitored on an hourly basis during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.
You only have to register once! The username and password assigned to you allows you to login, request and download photos as required:
A limit of 10 photos per request has been set to ensure zipped files are kept to an acceptable size - so that servers / email gateways will accept your request with attached photo(s).
Users may make more than one request per day [i.e. if more than 10 photos are required].
Photos are delivered as high-resolution jpgs with watermarks removed. The majority of our photos are a minimum of 5" X 7" in size, 300 dpi.
REMEMBER! Photos are emailed to the originating requestor's email address. For example, if you are an ad agency with numerous graphic artists working on a project - the photos will be sent to the email address of the person who originally registered and requested the images.
Requests for high-res drum scans are available and can be made via the Photo & Video Library. Images are delivered via CDRom. Scanning and courier costs will apply.
